I can think of no better way to spend a lunchtime than being surrounded by amazing and inspiring women. Today a network event, 'Celebrating Opportunities for Women' created a conversation that I am sure will have long-lasting impacts on us all. Born from a need identified by Alison McNamara to support the organisations and groups who provide much needed services for vulnerable Women, today's event brought together women from all walks of life to have a conversation about enterprise, supports, women, domestic violence, homelessness and most importantly the power of talking and being there for each other.
Huge thanks to Sarah Slazenger, Powerscourt Estate for providing today's venue, to Peaches Kemp, Feast Events & Catering who provided the amazing refreshments and an opportunity to continue the conversation over tea and treats and to Margaret Roche for chairing the session.
Special shout out to our amazing speakers Frances O’Dowd (AIB Galway), Susan Diffney (Jane's Place, Merchants Quay), Anne Marie McMurrow (Bray Women’s Refuge & Anu), Claire Harris (Ark Housing) and all those who contributed in the room. I'm looking forward to taking this conversation to the next stage and putting thoughts into action. Thank you especially to Alison for creating a space for these conversations to happen.
